Sausage Party (2016)


Food fetishists and stoners will enjoy the antics of this brazen exercise in bad taste, an adult-themed animation about supermarket produce items searching for the meaning of shelf-life, while everyone else can marvel at how such a temporally weak premise is so creatively stretched to full movie feature length.

Magic Magic (2013)


A young female traveller trapped in remote Chile in the company of a constantly whelping puppy and three personality-free travel companions (the worst being Michael Cera's incessantly talking Brink) witnesses animal cruelty, overdoses on unprescribed medication, doesn't have the others' confidence to jump off a rock into the ocean, and so descends gradually into madness and anyone watching this shrill, pointless, infuriating "psychological thriller" will likely do the same before the movie's exceedingly daft final exorcism scene.

Scott Pilgrim VS the World (2010)


Gamers and comic fans will go berserk for the gaming references and game level structure of this movie which pits a young "Mario" against a succession of super evil ex-partners of his "Princess Peach", but other viewers will tire quickly of these "boss encounters" and will want to declare game over by level three or four (of seven).
